Exhumation: formalities and timing
An exhumation requested by the family requires permission from the State District Sanitary Inspector responsible for the exhumation location. Formalities and timing must also be agreed with the cemetery administration. Exhumations generally take place from 16 October to 15 April, in the early morning. A different date requires a decision by the competent sanitary inspector.
During the conversation, we establish the current and planned burial places and the work and transport needed. Requirements for the coffin, protective measures and transport depend on the circumstances. Do not send documents or the deceased's personal details through the general form; we will agree a secure way to provide them during our conversation.
